Empowering teachers: AI4T Massive Open Online Course

At the heart of the AI4T initiative is an important resource designed to empower teachers and trainers: the AI4T Massive Open Online Course, commonly known as a MOOC.

This MOOC has several goals, three in particular:

  • first, to demystify and promote a deep understanding of AI;
  • second, to facilitate hands-on experimentation and informed use of AI software tools for educational purposes;
  • and third, to actively promote digital literacy in the educational community. This broader perspective also includes ethical considerations that go beyond purely technical or regulatory aspects of AI.

All resources of the AI4T MOOC are accessible in the five supported languages of the consortium. In addition to the MOOC, a methodology for translation into other target languages is proposed. Below are the countries that participated in the project and some insights on the implementation of the training (on how many teachers, schools participated in the project).

The project’s goal of providing a coherent set of resources on AI resources in educational provision has been achieved and the MOOC content is ready to be used!
